Wells Gray Medical Clinic is a group practice of five family physicians living and working in Clearwater. The clinic itself has been serving the District of Clearwater for more than 30 years.
Community Centered
Wells Gray Medical is the single clinic in Clearwater. We serve all residents of the district, as well as the surrounding communities. We also see visiting workers and tourists to prevent unnecessary ER visits.
Forward Thinking
Wells Gray Medical Clinic is a combination of solo practice and shared care. Each physician has their own panel of patients but share care for unattached patients of the clinic, as well as cross-coverage for each other. We are looking to expand our clinic to include allied health practitioners to make it a true patient medical home.
Room to Grow
Clearwater is designated for five full time physicians. The clinic has 9 exam rooms, a vitals room, and a family room. Each exam room is furnished with an exam bed, computer, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, sink, and the various sundries needed for most patient visits. We are in the process of updating our procedures room.
Full Service Family Medicine
Our clinic serves patients in all ages and stages of life. We provide full service care including maternity (no deliveries), small procedures, women’s health including MA, palliative care, and complex disease management. We see patients with addictions and mental health, supported by other local allied health services. If you have a passion project, this would be the place to start it.
Lovely for Locums
As a rural subsidary community, physicians are entitled to 43 days of locum coverage from the Rural General Practitioner Locum Program (RGPLP).
Locums who come have provided accommodation in fully furnished suites with full kitchens, private entrances. Social and adventure opportunities abound - we’ll take you out Salsa dancing, river rafting, for beer and barbeque, or for a nice dinner in the garden.
21st Century and Beyond
The clinic runs on Med Access EMR on new computers updated in 2023. All of our exam tables were replaced in 2023 to increase patient comfort. As grants and revenue allow, we are updating the building. This will include an expanded procedures room, new flooring, and a screen for the waiting room.
